MADE IN THE MILL is focused on helping locally owned independent businesses, services, and professionals gain more exposure by certifying that they are local small businesses.

The following business types DO NOT fit our criteria:

Medium to Large Franchises, regardless of where they are headquartered

Companies that are publicly traded, regardless of where they are headquartered

Independent agents or multi-level marketing for products and/ or services that can be found locally

Companies with more physical locations operating outside of the Carolina Piedmont than are operating inside the Carolina Piedmont

Companies with their headquarters outside North Carolina or South Carolina

The following business types DO fit our criteria:

Small businesses that are locally owned and operated

Small franchises headquartered in North Carolina or South Carolina
